
- All
competitors must have their
parent’s/caregiver’s permission to
enter, whose signature must be on the
entry form.
- All
duathlon competitors must wear a cycle
helmet, official t-shirt and race
number. A note to teams: there is one
race number per team which is worn by
the cyclist
- All
parents/caregivers must be confident
that their children entering the
Duathlon know and can apply normal road
rules.
- All
normal road rules apply. The roads are
open to normal traffic and competitors
should be aware of this at all times.
- All
competitors must keep within the cones.
At no time should any competitor go
outside the cones for any reason.
- Cyclists
should only be two abreast if
overtaking, at all other times cyclists
should be single file. At no time should
cyclists ride three abreast, even if
overtaking.
- Cyclists
overtaking other bikes should not do so
when passing a parked car.
- Marshals
will be identified by their safety
jackets. There will be at least one
Marshal on every corner. Their
instructions must be followed.
- Runners
crossing roads should wait for the
Marshal to indicate when it is safe to
cross and not cross without this
permission. Runners should stay on the
footpath at all other times.
- Anyone
not obeying the Marshals’ directions
will be disqualified.
- Common
sense should prevail. Anyone acting in
an unsafe manner will be asked to stop,
and will be disqualified.

Organisers have made every effort to
ensure that safety is maximised. Entry
into this event assumes that the entrant
will be personally responsible for safe
behaviour and strict adherence to the
road rules.
